At Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live, Bandai Namco Entertainment had a nice showcase for Tales of Arise that is coming to consoles and PC in a few weeks, but the publisher also revealed a brand new Tales of game in the form of Tales of Luminaria. Tales of Luminaria is a new game in the longrunning series in development for iOS and Android. Tales of Luminaria follows Tales of Crestoria (Free) from Bandai Namco Entertainment in bringing the series to mobile platforms. Tales of Luminaria looks to feature portrait gameplay and combat. The little bits of gameplay showcased in the trailer look great. After how good Tales of Arise for PC and consoles looks compared to prior games, I’m hoping Tales of Luminaria also feels like a nice step above what we’ve been used to on portables for the series. Watch the Tales of Luminaria trailer below:
As of now, Tales of Luminaria doesn’t have a confirmed release date or monetisation model yet. It will likely be free to play but that hasn’t been announced. It is in development for iOS and Android. Hopefully we learn more about Tales of Luminaria at TGS this year. Until then, you can check out Tales of Crestoria. It is available now on the App Store for iOS here and Google Play for Android here. I hope Tales of Luminaria gets global servers so it will have more life on mobile in general. I’m interested to see if it gets collaborations with Tales of Arise as well. What do you think of the Tales of Luminaria gameplay so far?
